Hate mail targets Ohio homes displaying Pride flags.

Many say if you drive down any of the streets in Cleveland Heights neighborhoods, you’ll find a diversity of flags representing the fabric of the community. If you look up and down our street, it’s there’s pride flags. There’s, you know, uh we believe in love signs in the yards and that sort of thing. But last week, several homeowners filed police reports after receiving hateful mail right to their doorsteps.

This homeowner told me he was shocked to hear about it. It was really upsetting, right? Like apparently a lot of the material was like neo-Nazi stuff, their SS lightning bolts, and that’s just uh really horrible. To protect the privacy of the homeowners who were targeted, 3 News is not disclosing the streets where this happened.

3 News learned one of the homeowners received a hateful message and a rifle magazine that stores and feeds ammunition into a rifle’s chamber. Neighbors told me they’re outraged and want action before someone gets hurt. The rifle takes it to a different level and it’s meant to, right? That’s why it’s there is to be even more frightening.

And in our culture of huge amount of gun violence, then it it makes it more plausible. A spokeswoman for the city of Cleveland Heights said there have been multiple reports filed with Cleveland Heights Police Department. and while she couldn’t discuss case specifics said that residents who receive a threat should call 911 and report any evidence, flyers, envelopes, messages, doorbell footage without handling it more than necessary.
